"I try not to watch movies and television with too much sex and violence. They really harm your perspective."
“How’s that?”
“Those movies and shows give you false expectations. If you watch them too much, you expect that every beautiful woman is a few hours away from jumping in bed with you. And you expect that every time you bump into someone on the sidewalk, or have any sort of confrontation, you should be ready to fight. In reality, you should probably just apologize and try to enjoy the person’s company.”

My take on AFL/Essendon saga. This is a massive problem that has everything to do with the primitive culture of football where players are manipulated (read: “coached”) into thinking they are children and must do whatever the coach/es say/s.

Ultimately, if it were a real workplace, would you:

A) let your boss randomly squirt your veins with unknown substances
B) sign a form that indemnifies him/her

I mean really. In the adult world, this is ridiculous. Jesus.

“Nike sells a commodity, they sell shoes. And yet when you think of Nike you feel something different than a shoe company. In their ads, as you know, they don’t ever talk about the product, they don’t ever talk about their air soles, how they’re better than Reebok’s air soles. What’s Nike do in their advertising? They honor great athletes and they honor great athletics. That’s who they are. That is what they are about.” Steve Jobs, during a town hall meeting with employees before unveiling the “Think Different” campaign in 1997. (via parislemon)

Skins. Seriously.

Does no one see the parallels between what happened to Effy with Cook vs Freddie and now what’s happening to Cook with Emma vs. Charlie. What’s good for you vs. what you desire. Also Emma’s death. As heart wrenching as Freddie’s disappearance.
